Astrology by Gwyneth :
June 2008
Personally Speaking:
I happen to think this has been an odd spring – I’m
referring to weather, not the price of Zucchini or oil. The weather
in my opinion has been mercurial to say the least, humid and cold
one day, hot the next.
Being an avid gardener, I have sensed the extremes and wonder
if I am totally off cue or if this happens to be typical of our
spring time climate? My secondary instinct is to point fingers
in the direction at the nebulous indices of Neptune as it conjuncts
Chiron and opposes Mars, creating in my mind the possibility of
erratic, even volatile weather patterns.
Whatever the weather, the early part of this month is perfect
for family gatherings, lazy beach days and opportunities for casual,
easy luncheons and happy social get togethers. Hopefully you tied
up last minute communications and signed important documents around
May 20th in anticipation of the Mercury retrograde occurring on
May 26th lasting until June 19th.
As I am constantly reminding my clients, Mercury retrogrades have
a shadow period roughly one week before the retrograde and one
week after they end. The best advice for this month is to forestall
any new projects until the 28th. If you had a project begun prior
to the retrograde it is fine to continue the momentum in order
to complete the task. Try not to sign contracts, buy new furniture
or appliances, or start any new type of communication-based project
or you will likely experience mishaps and errors that will demand
that the piece be restructured or completely redone.
As I mention latter on in this report, Pluto makes its last pass
into Sagittarius for the rest of our lifetimes. You may have noticed
that new themes had appeared in the spotlight of your personal
lives. Don’t be surprised if they temporarily fade into the
background this month and are replaced by issues you thought were
no longer of importance. This will demand you return once again
to old issues in order to completely finish and tidy up any loose
ends.
For example, if the 5th house of creativity and kids was the theme
for the last 18 years, you will revisit this place in your chart
in order to completely wring out any available new insights and
find the most ingenious way to manage your artistry, your children
and love life.
The fire signs Sagittarius, Leo and Aries will probably feel this
blip backwards more than most people as Pluto re-enters Sagittarius
and Mars enters Leo to create more heat and heady excitement. Sagittarians will impatiently wonder why the theme is being repeated as they
drum their nervous fingers on the nearest desk. Education and travel
could be highlighted and the first 15 days of the month could be
a jumble of wanted and unwanted activities that are fulsome but
at times feel like one more thing to accomplish in a long list
of todo’s. Leo natives will feel like they are burning with
anticipation and a desire to jump start a new project. On or near
the 19th they will have to be careful that they are not looking
at a serious condition through rose-colored glasses. Aries folks
will enjoy this month more than their fellow fire sign buddies
and will not be affected by the highs and lows of various transits
as much as most people. A new love opportunity, perfect for a beautiful
summer romance, may catch them off guard and act as a catalyst
for an overall lifestyle change.
Water sign natives Scorpio, Pisces and Cancers may feel that life,
even in our beautiful spring, is all work and no play. Scorpios need to generally lighten up and smell the roses as Jupiter and
Capricorn can spur positive results and propel them toward greater
prosperity. In general, circumstances are much better than they
seem to be and there is ample opportunity to find new ways in which
to enjoy the riches of life.
Cancers, influenced by bodacious opposition to Jupiter in Capricorn,
are being asked by the universe to learn new skills and stretch
outside of their old notions about reality. They are also spurred
into a practical vein as Saturn continues to sextile their sign
and energize them to work and rock steady. Financial matters take
center stage for them this month and they must pay attention to
what they actually have in the bank vs. what they think is there
on deposit. Pisces people will focus attention on how, when and
why they work along with pouring lavish affection on their bodies.
During the last few days of this report Neptune moves retrograde
and will influence Pisces fish to slow down and enjoy their lives.
This would be a great time to call in vacation hours and enjoy
farmers’ markets and the sight and scents of spring flowers.
Capricorns, Virgos and Taurus natives may find the first half
of this Gemini ruled month a tad bit nerve wracking. The cure is
for them to stay focused through practical, sustained exercise
such as walking, gardening and yoga. Capricorn people have been
blessed this year with Jupiter in their sign. Good luck and bodacious
rewards could be the key themes. This month Mars in Leo could bring
up deep and intense issues that deal with inheritances, wills,
taxes, other people’s money, sexuality and anything taken
from your unfathomable psychological depths. Virgo folks are experiencing
the waves of practical Saturn as it transits their sign until the
end of October 2009. This month deep issues force you to revisit
old wounds – not necessarily productive or healthy if continued
for any length of time. Try to find light pastimes for the benefit
of your mental health. Taurus, a sign known for its longevity and
endurance, is positively affected by the transit of Jupiter and
Saturn. Growth on many levels is the key theme and financial prosperity
could come in the form of a bonus check or earnings from a well
planned savings program. Expect lots of activity on the home front
and try to keep home improvement and family re-unions to a dull
roar.
Aquarians, Librans and Geminis benefit from the Sun, New Moon,
Mercury and Venus in Gemini energy during the first 15 days of
this month. Gemini natives will positively glow as their Sun gets
positive support from planets that highlight beauty, abundance
and intellectual receptivity. New ideas and interesting communications
with siblings will provide much to ponder when Mars in Leo transits
that area of your chart that stimulates invention and intellectual
growth. Aquarians are benefited by the Gemini planetary collective
and can enjoy the beauty and sociable energy of early June. Late
in the month Neptune in retrograde Aquarius may demand that you
stop fooling yourself about an important issue and take slow but
steady steps to rectify any prior offense. Libras also receive
the gracious energies of several planets in Gemini that stimulate
pleasurable intellectual pursuits. This is a great time to attend
book signings, plays and workshops. A large organization could
demand that your focus be upon the needs of many instead of a few.
You might be forced to pick sides and defend your position with
unusual gusto and enthusiasm.
Globally Minded:
Over the last few weeks, I have been sensing an overly anxious,
antagonistic energy in the air as friends and neighbors bitterly
complain about soaring gas prices, the stock market and whether
house prices will eventually start to rise. People in general feel
an ambiguity (this condition created by several planets interacting
with nebulous Neptune) regarding their incomes and how far they
can be stretched to cover what we consider necessary.
I also feel that the influence of Saturn as it makes its two-and-a-half
year pass through practical Virgo is forcing people to consider
carefully how to manage material excess and do more with less.
Over the next few months, Jupiter will link more solidly with Saturn
and many people will feel the positive rewards from reducing waste,
enjoying more down-to-earth forms of entertainment and finding
creative solutions to overspending.
Another matter of interest is that Mars, the planet of action,
has recently moved into the fiery, gregarious sign of Leo. This
volatile energy will act toward the end of the month, like a gas-soaked
rag thrown into a barn full of hay. Expect to hear more than a
few stories about people demanding to know why oil prices are soaring,
where their tax dollars are being spent and loud reactions to the
indecent treatment of illegal aliens and political detainees.
In addition to all the cacophony, Pluto lends its energy to the
fray as it moves mid-month back into Sagittarius. Pluto having
recently moved into Capricorn will move temporarily back into Sagittarius
on June 15th until November 29th to give everyone one last chance
to tie up loose ends that have been major life issues over the
last 19 years!
I highly recommend that if you have any issues you thought were
laid to rest, give them your utmost focus and take care of business
so that you will be able to move on without any regrets.
On a lighter note, early June greets us with a pleasant, talkative
and friendly period as Venus conjuncts the Sun. This peaceful transit
allows everyone to enjoy themselves after a long cold winter. Unfortunately,
the latter part of the month may be punctuated by heated political
mishaps, angry reactions to over pricing and complications regarding
the Iraq war which indicate some type of military mismanagement.
It is important to consider historically that the last time Pluto
made its slow cranky move into Capricorn (1774) we were a couple
years shy of the Revolutionary War. Just to refresh your memory,
it was during this time that Americans witnessed leaders like Thomas
Jefferson, John Adams and Benjamin Franklin take up the revolutionary
cause in order for us to liberate ourselves from the financial
and political constraints of England. I think in light of this
information that it is fascinating that Tom Hanks chose to bring
the HBO docudrama John Adams to the screen only a few short weeks
ago. Therefore, I believe that this very timely period piece performance
reminds us that in our universe nothing is ever really new, just
a slightly revised script re-written to fit our current times.
Well I must sign off! It time to get busy pulling weeds, fighting
woodchucks and planting vegetables for the deer so they will have
some juicy tomatoes and peppers to eat come August.
Be Well
Celestial Blessings
